Overview
A refreshing full-day escape from Agadir combining the natural rock pools of Paradise Valley, argan country and the bohemian surf villages of Taghazout and Tamraght — the perfect day trip along Morocco's Atlantic coast.
Day-by-day itinerary
Morning · Agadir pickup & Paradise Valley
Your Paradise Valley day trip from Agadir begins with a comfortable morning pick-up from your hotel or riad. You drive north into the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains, following a winding road lined with argan trees and Berber villages, until you reach Paradise Valley — a stunning palm-fringed gorge hidden in the mountains. Here you can walk along the river, scramble over smooth rocks and take a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear natural pools.
Midday · Berber lunch & argan cooperative
After soaking up the valley, you enjoy a relaxed Berber lunch beside the river (own account), surrounded by palm trees and mountain scenery. On the way you stop at a women's argan oil cooperative, where local Berber women show you how Morocco's famous argan oil is hand-pressed — with the chance to taste and buy pure culinary and cosmetic oils straight from the source.
Afternoon · Taghazout & Tamraght surf villages
In the afternoon you continue to the laid-back Atlantic surf villages of Taghazout and Tamraght, famous for their golden beaches, world-class surf breaks and bohemian cafés. There is time to relax on the sand, watch the surfers ride the waves and sip a glass of mint tea overlooking the ocean before the scenic coastal drive back to Agadir.
