A 6-day journey from Rabat to Marrakech through the imperial cities, Volubilis, the Sahara dunes of Merzouga and the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs — a complete north-to-south crossing of Morocco.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Rabat → Meknes → Volubilis → Fes
From Rabat you visit imperial Meknes and the Roman ruins of Volubilis before continuing to Fes for the night.
Day 2: Fes city tour
A guided day in Fes takes in the vast car-free medina, the Chouara tanneries and the medieval madrasas of Morocco's cultural capital.
Day 3: Fes → Midelt → Merzouga
Drive south through Ifrane, the cedar forests and the Ziz Valley to Merzouga, where a camel trek leads into the Erg Chebbi dunes for a night in a Sahara camp.
Day 4: Merzouga → Rissani → Todra → Dades
After sunrise over the dunes, visit Rissani, then the dramatic Todra Gorge and the Dades Valley.
Day 5: Dades → Valley of the Roses → Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou
Follow the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs through the Valley of the Roses to Ouarzazate and the UNESCO kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou.
Day 6: Ait Ben Haddou → High Atlas → Marrakech
Cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n'Tichka pass to Marrakech, the vibrant Red City.
