Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Rabat → Meknes → Volubilis → Fes
Leave Rabat to discover the imperial city of Meknes and the Roman ruins of Volubilis, then continue to Fes for the night.
Day 2: Fes city tour
A full-day guided tour of Fes reveals the world's largest car-free medina, the famous Chouara tanneries, historic madrasas and the spiritual heart of Morocco.
Day 3: Fes → Ifrane → Midelt → Merzouga
Journey south through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas and the Ziz Valley to Merzouga, riding camels into the Erg Chebbi dunes for a sunset and a night in a desert camp.
Day 4: Merzouga → Todra Gorge → Dades → Ouarzazate
After the desert sunrise, travel via the Todra Gorge and the Dades Valley along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to Ouarzazate.
Day 5: Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech
Visit the UNESCO kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, then cross the High Atlas over the Tizi n'Tichka pass to Marrakech.
