Best Time to Visit Morocco: A Month-by-Month Guide (2026)

Quick answer: when to go

The best time to visit Morocco is spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when days are warm, nights are mild and the Sahara is comfortable to explore. That said, Morocco is a year-round destination — the ideal month depends on whether you are heading to the coast, the imperial cities or the desert.

Spring (March–May)

Arguably the best overall window. Wildflowers cover the valleys, the High Atlas still wears a cap of snow, and desert temperatures are pleasant for camel treks and overnight camps. Book ahead around Easter, when demand peaks.

Summer (June–August)

Coastal towns like Essaouira and Agadir stay breezy and are perfect for beating the heat, while Marrakech and the desert get very hot at midday. In summer we plan early starts and late-afternoon activities to keep things comfortable.

Autumn (September–November)

Our favourite season for desert tours. The fierce summer heat fades, the light turns golden, and the dunes of Merzouga are magical at sunrise and sunset.

Winter (December–February)

Clear skies, quiet medinas and snow-capped mountains. Desert days are sunny but nights are cold — our camps provide extra blankets and heating. Ideal for imperial-city sightseeing without the crowds.
